Privacy Policy
User privacy is paramount. This policy outlines how data is handled with transparency and security.
01. Introduction
02. Information Collection
2.1 Personal Information
When an account is created, the email address and any profile information provided through the authentication provider (Firebase Auth) is collected.
2.2 User Content
Video files, audio tracks, and images uploaded ("User Content") are processed to provide editing services. This includes generating transcripts, AI-powered voice enhancement, and final rendered videos.
2.3 Payment Information
Payments are processed securely via Paystack. Full credit card details are not stored on Crosscut AI servers; only the necessary transaction identifiers are maintained to manage the subscription.
03. Usage of Data
Service Provision: To provide video editing, AI smart-cutting, false start detection, and cloud rendering features.
AI Processing: Google AI models are used to analyze content for transcription, false start detection, scene indexing, and audio enhancement. User content is NOT used to train foundational AI models without explicit consent.
Storage: IndexedDB is used for temporary local storage of video assets to enable high-performance browser-based editing.
04. Data Sharing & Third Parties
Data is shared with the following service providers only as necessary to provide the service:
Google Cloud/Firebase: Authentication, database, and media storage.
Google AI (Gemini): AI task processing.
Paystack: Secure payment processing.
Pexels: Stock media search integration.
05. Data Retention
User Content is retained while the account is active. Projects or the account can be deleted at any time. Once deleted, video files are permanently removed from cloud storage after a 7-day grace period (90 days for Pro, 180 days for Ultra Studio subscribers).
06. Your Rights
Under GDPR and other privacy laws, users have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data. These rights can be exercised by contacting the email below.
